Y'all, I have a show coming up on May 12th at Art-Haus Grant Park! It's a quaint but mighty show filled with tons of originals, including my "Woman and Woman" series. I can't wait to see all of your lovely faces there 🌸
It's just one of those days where I don't want to do anything but eat Brie, listen to the S-Town Podcast, and lay around in my underwear. Who's with me?
Woman and Sister
It's a mom and daughter working through the challenges; it's a friend and friend having a heart to heart; it's a sister and sister cooking dinner on a Tuesday night.
Woman and Self
I gathered with a few friends last night for a warm evening of discussion. We were prompted with a reflective entry: "What are your 3 greatest strengths?" I told the group Creation, Empathy, and Acceptance. My pals started firing new words at me: reflective, kind, bubbly, original, positive, open-minded. It made my heart warm to hear the traits my peers value in me. The one that stuck out to me the most was Artist. Some days I feel like an artist and other days I feel like a bum. At the end of the day, I create to inspire, understand, make sense of the world. I'm proud of my craft. Now take a peak at yourself this morning. What traits do you most admire about yourself? You are beautiful! 🌞
Not for your Viewing Pleasure
This body is not for your pleasure; odalisque; women supporting women; woman and woman; take it elsewhere.
Woman in Green
How I woke up this morning. Hair (always) amuck, ravaging for green in my closet, ready to get this day started! Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Half of Me
Getting ready for this artist market like......this is what I get after cinco de mayo.
Sisters in Solidarity
International Women's Day; a day without a woman; the future is female; resist; be bold; women empowerment.
Stink Eyed Bitch
I'm in love with these faces.
Mother Nature and I
Welcome Spring! We have surely been missing your warm presence and budding tendencies.
All the Shades of Women
I'm essentially just manifesting the idea of warm weather, bright colors, and skin that isn't translucent back into my life. Let's go spring! We're ready for you 🌸
Many Faces of Womanhood
Some days I feel lost in the thought of standing out in a sea of badass women. But then I think to myself, let's band together and all strengthen each other to become increasingly more badass.
Woman is the Real Madonna
I'm always headed straight to the Modern art pavilion at the High Museum to check out some Frankenthaler and Louis, but today was slightly different. I came with a friend who hadn't been in a while, so we meandered around the European and American art permanent collections longer than a normal visit would typically entail. We hopped on an impromptu tour with a docent discussing the colors in Monet, transcendentalism of Rothko, and confrontation in Katz. Made me long for heated discussion and my very challenging yet comforting art classes.
Look Back at It
Little qt ready to take on the weekend. Look back at it; check yourself; women drawing women; women of arts Atlanta.
Am I doing This Right?
I have been working on my yoga practice to keep myself grounded, centered, and clear. Some days I leave feeling like a changed woman, and other days it's just about getting my butt to the studio to check it off the list. Today was definitely one of those days. My legs tight, stomach full from the chicken nuggets consumed last night, and mind a little cloudy. However, I made it there and brought my focus back to the breath. Thank you Infinity Yoga for bearing with me this morning.
Red Moon Sisters
Reconnecting with my body with this lunar phase while succumbing to the full moon. I'm learning to respect the flow as a time for creativity, rest, and rejuvenation. In ancient times, the red moon cycle was associated with shamanism, high priestesses, and healers. Often women who menstruate with the full moon channel their darker energies outward rather than inward, teaching others from their own experiences. Women with this cycle are believed to be more focused on self-growth, mentorship, and creativity.
Happy hump day you wacky people 👅
Legs on Legs
As I sit here drinking coffee on this Monday morning, I think back on the incredible week I've had with friends and family. I was able to catch Dawes last Saturday and The Head and the Heart last night. I've seen each of these bands on countless occasions, watching their talent grow with each song, show, and tour. Their practice shines a light on the hard work and dedication it takes to make your dream a reality. Thank you x a million for getting me through the shit days, the worries, and the joys that life chucks at you. I'm a mere few rivers and roads from making my dream a reality.
